Board and Train Programs

Basic Obedience Board and Train Program

Our basic board and train covers on leash obedience such as come, sit, down, heel, stay, and rest.

The commands and behaviors covered in the program are adaptable to your needs. Things such as a right vs left side heel or commands in another language are examples of varying preferences.

It typically lasts two weeks but sometimes will extend depending on the progression of your dog. Our program can be divided into 4 distinct phases: introduction, learning, fading, and proofing. The first 2-3 days are spent exercising, hand feeding, and ensuring your pup gets lots of cuddles as they adjust to a new environment. Days 4-7 consist of beginning to ask for behaviors in exchange for the food we are hand feeding. This stage is full of learning and involves primarily luring with a little verbal input. The first half of the second week, days 8-11, we begin fading the food luring and asking for complete behaviors. Finally, the last few days, 12-14, we spend taking field trips to places like Home Depot, Lowe's, Tractor Supply, and more. This allows us to see if our foundation holds up with distractions and environmental changes.

We will also trouble shoot behaviors such as  jumping and nipping. HOWEVER, our basic program DOES NOT cover aggression cases including resource guarding. We do work with these dogs, but our progress is usually much slower as it normally takes longer to gain trust and build a solid relationship; two weeks is not enough time. If you are interested in training an aggressive dog give us a call.

***This process varies depending on the dog we are working with due to factors like their training history, what the owner's primary goals are, and how quickly they settle in.

Advanced Obedience Board and Train Program

Our Advanced Obedience Program is designed for owners seeking exceptional precision, reliability, and true off-leash freedom. This program builds on the foundation established during our Basic Obedience Board & Train and focuses on sharpening responsiveness, increasing difficulty, and preparing your dog to perform confidently in real-world environments with minimal guidance.

Your dog will work through a comprehensive set of advanced skills such as:

  • Off-leash heeling: Maintaining a consistent heel position with distractions, environmental pressure, and changes in speed or direction.
  • Down in motion: Responding instantly to commands while moving, ensuring control at a distance or in dynamic situations.
  • Reliable recall (come): Fast, enthusiastic, and consistent recalls even under high distraction.
  • Extended-duration stays and rests: Holding positions for longer periods, building impulse control, calmness, and patience.
  • Advanced impulse control: Managing excitement around people, other dogs, movement, wildlife, and outdoor stimuli.
  • Neutrality in public settings: Remaining composed in environments like stores, parks, trails, and busy areas—essential for a well-mannered companion.
  • Lifestyle-specific skills: Training tailored to your daily life, such as hiking manners, car-ride etiquette, advanced place work, or specific obedience preferences you request.

Training is fully personalized to your expectations—including your preferred heel side, command language, communication style, and any unique behaviors or routines you want your dog to learn. This program is ideal for dogs who have completed basic obedience and are ready for a higher standard of clarity, control, and reliability both at home and out in the world.

Puppy Obedience Board and Train Program

Our Puppy Foundation Program gives young dogs the structure, socialization, and early obedience skills they need to grow into confident, well-mannered adults. This program is tailored for pups 4 - 6 months old and focuses on building healthy habits, preventing future problem behaviors, and introducing your puppy to the world in a safe, intentional way.

Your puppy will learn essential foundational skills such as sit, down, come, place, loose-leash walking, crate training, name recognition, marker training, impulse control, and calm behaviors in the home. Training is personalized to your lifestyle and specific needs.

A major emphasis of this program is proper socialization. We aim to not simply meet dogs and people, but thoughtfully expose your puppy to a variety of sights, sounds, surfaces, environments, and experiences.

Your puppy will safely encounter things such as:

  • household noises and outdoor sounds
  • car rides and public places
  • friendly strangers at appropriate distances
  • other animals in a safe, controlled space
  • new objects, environments, and mild challenges

This exposure builds confidence, reduces fearfulness as they mature, and helps prevent future behavioral issues.

Behavior Modification Board and Train Program

Our Behavior Modification Program is designed for dogs struggling with emotional or behavioral challenges that interfere with daily life. Instead of simply suppressing unwanted behaviors, we focus on building clarity, confidence, and safe coping skills so your dog can navigate the world calmly and reliably.

This program is ideal for dogs experiencing fear, anxiety, over-arousal, environmental sensitivity, leash frustration, poor impulse control, or mild resource concerns. Every dog receives a personalized training plan based on their history, triggers, and individual needs.

One of our most common behavior modification focuses is reactivity. Including barking, lunging, or fixating at dogs, people, or environmental triggers.

Our approach focuses on:

  • lowering your dog’s stress levels
  • teaching alternative behaviors
  • building neutrality and emotional stability
  • improving leash communication and engagement
  • giving you clear management and handling strategies

Whether the reactivity is fear-based, frustration-driven, or rooted in insecurity, we focus on changing your dog’s underlying emotional response not just the outward behavior. Every behavior plan is progressive, fair, and aimed at long-term success, not quick fixes.

Puppy Bitework Board and Train Program

Our Puppy Bitework Program is designed for young working-prospect dogs who need clear, structured foundation work to prepare them for future protection, sport, or police K9 training. This program focuses on building confidence, drive development, proper gripping habits, and clean engagement—without overwhelming or over-pressuring a growing puppy. The goal is to strengthen natural instincts while teaching the puppy how to channel those behaviors into controlled, purposeful work.

We emphasize creating a stable, confident puppy who enjoys the game, understands how to interact with equipment properly, and builds the emotional resilience necessary for real working environments. All training is age-appropriate, positive, and tailored to your pup’s future goals.

Key Skills Covered

  • Drive building and engagement
  • Proper grip development on age-appropriate equipment
  • Confidence building through structured exposure
  • Environmental neutrality (surfaces, noises, objects)
  • Early targeting and bite presentation
  • Out / release foundations (age-appropriate)
  • Channeling arousal into focused, workable behavior

This program lays the groundwork for future protection training, sport involvement, or police K9 development. Your puppy will leave with a strong emotional and physical foundation, not finished behaviors, but the correct mindset and instincts needed for advanced work later in life.

Obedience can be included in longer programs.

Length of program determines amount of progress. A minimum 2 weeks is required.

This program focuses on building power, control, clarity, and commitment while maintaining strong nerve, clean grips, and stable emotional responses. The goal is to develop a dog who works with confidence and intensity yet remains clear-headed, controllable, and environmentally stable. We emphasize developing a dog that understands the full picture of the work including gripping, targeting, pushing, outing, and responding to pressure appropriately. Training is tailored to your dog’s training history and future path, whether you are preparing for sport, police K9 work, or personal protection.

We also focus on obedience in accordance with the dog's goals. Ensuring a healthy balance of bite development and obedience skills.

Lessons

Our lessons are ideal for owners who want to learn along with their dog. They follow no specific plan and are completely adaptable to your exact needs. We do not require that you commit to a certain number of lessons or "buy in bulk".

Progression depends entirely on the owner's commitment outside of lesson time. Think of it as attending class then getting homework where the class is the instruction YOU receive during the lesson and the homework is what you do with your pup at home. The more you work on your homework, the faster your pup will progress towards your goals.

Common goals we help owners and pups work towards include basic obedience (such as come, sit, down, and a place command), leash manners, reactivity, agility, scent detection, and protection training.

***We recommend weekly lessons to ensure consistency and to trouble-shoot any problems that may inhibit progress.
